Rationale

I had been thinking about beginning a blog in order to efficiently update friends and family on our upcoming year-long stay in Ecuador. Receiving an invitation this morning to read my pastor's new blog pushed me over the edge. I thought, "What's he got to say that's anymore profound than what I have to say?" Okay, his words may carry more weight since some lost souls may believe he has a more direct pipeline to God than I do. But they'd be mistaken, wouldn't they?

Until we go to Ecuador, probably in mid-February, 2010, I'll use this space to comment on other momentous topics that find their way into my attic (i.e., mind), such as preparations for leaving, home happenings, travel happenings, maybe some politics, and the all-consuming New Orleans Saints drive to this season's Superbowl.

Like my pastor, I'm not concerned with making a "name" for myself. I am, however, concerned with finding the most efficient way to communicate because I have been blessed with boucoup friends and family.

A disclaimer: I will not blog every day. It's too much like writing a diary, which I've tried before and never kept up because it became a chore. When I find a "Glenn Gem" in my attic, I'll share.
